.. .. About Nick and Seraina Welcome to NGS. My name is Nick Garrett an artist and traditional dyed-in-the-wool London sign writer. I graduated from University of the Creative Arts Camberwell with a first class degree in Fine Art with honours going on to Masters and teaching at the university and exhibit at major London galleries. My signwriting career started when I was very young with my grandfather and apprenticed with London signwriter Andrew Whitmore, before trading independently as a brewery gilder for Watney and Allied Breweries. Seraina (the one eating the brush) hails from Zurich and joined NGS as a sign painter and gilder in 2019 with a background in screen printing and graphic signage. She has a huge appetite for fine numeral styles and heritage designs. We continue to grow and actively share our knowledge and tips through NGS annual open studio events since 2012. I have always had a passion for lettering watching my grandfather cutting letters in stone, and I am proud to offer clients over 30 years of specialist knowledge and skill. It is my chosen path to add detail to this fantastic London architectural landscape whilst conserving our world renowned quality and diversity of culture. For our lettering practice I source only the finest tools and materials. My choice brushes include NGS bespoke designs including: 'NGS Bodoni pointed quills and 'NGS Surefires', all made to our precise custom measurements in the heartlands of England. We source the best materials too. Fine tools, equipment and constant work-flow guarantees precision in signwriting.  We've built a fantastic collection of quality in-house NGS foundry fonts. Fontlab software allows us to also make our own crafted sets just for you. The humble pencil is our premium design tool integrated with digital design output. Alongside the drawing board sits the computer, essential to final design processing and staying ahead of trend as a successful design business.
