About these Beautiful Restoration Fonts

Our hand made NGS Font numbers are completely different to anything else in the design marketplace.

By far more refined than ‘off the shelf’ fonts used by others.

One of many minute reasons why our numbers look so special… just perfectly balanced in every tiny detail.

Handcrafted NGS font numerals are individually drawn and refined by hand, offering a level of character, balance, and authenticity that simply cannot be achieved with standard off-the-shelf digital fonts.

Inspired by traditional signwriting and historic lettering styles, each number is carefully proportioned to suit the architecture, scale, and retaining detailing from the swept forms of period property or any rare signature context.

Way before the letter is painted on site, every curve, serif, stroke width, and spacing detail undergoes at least a dozen rounds of drafting in the studio, in order to create a finish that feels timeless, elegant, and aesthetically complete.

Ensuring that unlike low budget mass-produced vinyl or computer-generated lettering, our restoration fonts retain the craftsmanship that give NGS design a rich sensuality. Giving our NGS hand-painted lettering its warmth, voice and iconic distinction.

And when it’s raining or we are not on site, we are in the studio painting, drawing and vectorising our incredible Type collection, on the bench.

The result is sets of letters and numbers that always sit perfectly within their surroundings. Each carries the grail of true quality, long associated with the forefather finest exponents of Traditional London signwriting.

John Nash was a prominent British architect of the late 18th and early 19th centuries, best known for shaping large parts of London during the Regency era. Born in 1752, he became one of the leading figures of Regency architecture, a style known for its elegance, symmetry, and classical influences.

He also designed the extravagant Royal Pavilion in Brighton, notable for its exotic, Indian- and Chinese-inspired design — very different from his more classical London projects.
