Updated 10/10/13: We would’t be lying to say that theGQ team has been counting down the days until J Crew‘s arrival in London ever since the label’s first European store was announced back in 2011. So you can imagine our excitement that today the American high street heavyweight opens its first men’s only store outside of the US on Lamb’s Conduit Street, nearly a full month before its gigantic Regent Street flagship opens on 8 November. Housed in a building dating back to the Nineteenth Century, the appropriately monikored “38 Lamb’s Conduit” will sell shirting, an assortment of the label’s excellent Ludlow suiting and a whole host of exclusive items from J Crew-approved brands like Thomas Mason, Corgi, Begg & Co. and British umbrella makers London Undercover. The shop will also offer monogramming, custom stitching and buttons and a free delivery service. In short: the brand’s English answer its one-off New York Liquor Store. We’ll see you in the queue.
