INTERIOR WALL LONDON

SECURE INSIDER PAGE: INSPIRATION

Looking at deco Riviera beach life imagery and for this first sketch I thought I would chase that first impression I had yesterday – this was the image I had in my mind standing poolside.

VERSION 001 [below] – Mix of initial scenic and motif views.

This was the medley of ideas that came into my head as Simon introduce us to the space and the idea.

VERSION 002 below

VERSION 2

This scenic view opens up the whole space pictorially with a subtle introduction of Indian classical art themes – in line with the 1920-30s eras.

IN SITU

The in-situ visual render show the context of the interios and existing styling hierarchy.

There’s a relaxed combination of symbols and abstract elements here but the mural still has the ability to introduce life, romantic warmth and living narrative theme.

The palms and frame detailing is now drawing in the influence of the home [bronze slatted detailing], and classical palms.

The shells are similar to the architectural details above No 2 Upper Belgrave St/roofline.

The shoreline Rivierra theme is undiminished in the mid central position.

Pallete is soft/pale.

VERSION 003 – Rich pallet

RICHNESS OF TONE – V003

This version above adds a warmer richness to the pallet – and below it steers into a sunset softness.

V004 Below: This version resets the vinilla tones into a soft ‘Indian summer’ red cast.

VERSION 004 – THE ROSE VERSIONS

Mix of initial scenic and motif views with warmer pallet and Indian rose sunlight aura.

VERSION 005 – The Coastal Riviera theme

V 005

VERSION 005 – 006 – Below: Grande ‘Rustico’ Riviera theme. Pastel and richer hue versions.

Grande Rustico Riciera theme.

VERSION 007 – Below: Grande ‘Rustico’ Riviera theme in richer hue.

INFLUENCES – at large in these theme designs #001-006.

An infusion of warm mediterranean and Indian pallet and subtle motif.

These ideas below can also feed into the themes easily – so just let me know your hunches and preferences.

I personally love Matisse and the Soleil poster inspirations below… but moreover I am also a huge fan of Indian classical art and Paul Gauguin’s rustic handling.

THE MURAL CREATION PROCESS – always colourful journeys

First step is to cherish the first vision. From here I like to try various avenues of deck direction:

  1. Refining the original vibrance overlay ideation.

2. Pulling toward more subtle notations of Indian classical detailing and themes.

3. Adding Client impressions and direction as the core.

We can go with interlaced faded overlays or toward minimal figures – all avenues are open. I will update ideas shortly.
