NGS

.

.

2. Creative project works

Normal signwriting works will include: The writing of the sign and not the preparation of surfaces.

.

  • Checking client artwork – scaling to size (not inc design of logos etc)
  • Print-out of layout
  • Trace and Paint/Gild lettering

.

.

3. ‘Design’

For the design of logos or any part of the project a design charge is required.

A bug-bare of our industry, shared by many writers, is the expectation that we can simply sketch up some ideas.  We can design for client requirements, but this is qualified as ‘Commercial/Graphic/Brand Design’ and is charged reasonably as a professional service.

.

.

3.2 Design Fees

c£350-650.00 is the normal custom design cost for logo design from a sign writer.

From a ‘Brand Design company the normal custom design cost for logo design is c£3500-6500.

.

.

4. Design ‘Sign-off’ – A contractual obligation

.

Designs are ‘signed off’ for client approval prior to arrival on site. By design we refer to all components and aspects.

.

5. Quality Control

We are quality conscious at each step.  Signs must be viewed at normal readable viewing distance of +1.5m.

.

.

Readability sizes

.

.

Texture matching and colour matching.

.

.

5.1 TOLERANCE GUIDE

Bold colours  –  Matching Ranges  80-95%

Tonals  –  Matching Ranges  88-95%

Blacks  –  95-100%

Whites –  95-100%

Textured/mixed colours  – High match likelihood

Matt – High match likelihood

Low sheen/Satin – High match likelihood

Gloss – Med match likelihood

.

.

6. POST DESIGN SIGN-OFF

The client cannot make design changes after sign-off without incurring costs as a result of such contractual changes.

Visualising the end product is something we emphasise and make clear to all clients prior to and post sign-off. We produce scale visuals in order to avoid problematic issues.

.

Example: Arriving on site with agreed artwork that has been signed-off spanning say 1.8mm title line width, and client demanding it be made larger or smaller once seeing it in reality setting.

In such an event we always aim to minimise cost and disruption however we will require the following ‘reasonable’ fees. If the design is a brand mark then we usually return to studio for amendment works.

If minor changes for example to house number sizing we can accommodate without charges.

.

.

6.1 Major changes

Such changes will require site visit costs being covered (typically 350.00 min) and minor charge for design resize and pattern/layout preparation of say 80.00 depending on scale of changes.

.

.

7. Order Confirmation

Any order placed is provisional until NGS receives a deposit and/PO/or acknowledgement email which will be deemed to be the client’s acceptance of these terms and conditions.

.

.

8. Deposits and Invoicing

We hope you have time to read our terms and assume on receipt of deposit you are aware of our prompt service and payment philosophy.

.

.
