Since 1985 I’ve garnered a reputation as being one of the best script writers in the sign writing craft, alongside my talented lettering master friends, Paul Gurney and David Kynaston.

It is one of those delicate yet sexy styles that eludes many emulators and sets the barometer of whether you are the best of the best.

Luckily I always took it on in my early days and loved the way it all fits together.

Below is my first ever script pub sign made in 1981. It’s still there at the Sir Alexander Fleming pub in Paddington, London.
